Personal Sports Biography
I was introduced to sports by my dad, when I was around 5. He encouraged me to play baseball and pee wee tee ball. My dad was also a big football fan and I would watch all the games with him, I fell in love with the game and my passion for sports grew from there. When I was younger I played tag, wiffle ball, and street hockey out in the cul-de-sac, I would do anything to get out of the house and do something recreational. When I was younger I participated in baseball for 2 years, hockey for 1 year, gymnastics for 2 to 3 years, soccer for 1 year, and inline speed skating for 3 years. For the most part I had many positive experiences; it was a reward for me outside of home and school because I was a part of a group where I met new friends. An initial negative would be the feeling of defeat when I lost at something, yet in the end it was a positive lesson I had to eventually learn and deal with in life. Currently I play Lacrosse for Reinhardt I also play intramural flag football. Some of my favorite sports to follow are college football and college basketball. I watch ESPN, read Sports Illustrated, listen to sports radio, and read the AJC. I cannot miss Tennessee Football, or any college football game, National championship, playoffs in college basketball, and the World Series. My least favorite sports to follow are soccer, golf, rowing, NASCAR, fishing, bowling, hunting, NBA basketball, and tennis. One of the sports issues I find interesting is the BCS and playoff issue because I don’t think the BCS is a very legit way to find out who the best team is. I think that there are teams that are undefeated that do not get a chance to play for national championship. Therefore I think the playoff system is a much better way to figuring out who is the best team. Another issue I am interested in is college players selling their jerseys and equipment for money and other collateral, for example AJ Greene for UGA and five of Ohio State's football players. The controversy is the Ohio Players are going to suspended next season instead of being suspended for the sugar bowl, which eventually leads to Ohio State to a victory over Arkansas. I find Peyton Manning significant because he was a Tennessee Volunteer and he is a major leader to his team. He shows great poise and determination when he is on the field. Another athlete would be Alge Crumpler, I find him interesting because he is a great team player and a great wide receiver.
